ENOUGH! Eradicate Bullying & Incivility in Healthcare: Strategies for Front Line Leaders

When I first started this journey to eradicate bullying and incivility in healthcare, my focus was on individual nurses. As soon as I “opened shop” and proclaimed to the world that enough was enough and that I was taking action against bullying, nurses from all over the world started reaching out for help.

For the first few years, I did everything I could to help each individual nurse who shared his/her personal story about being bullied.

I wrote my first book, Do No Harm” Applies to Nurses Too! Strategies to Protect and Bully-proof Yourself at Work, which I dedicated to the thousands of nurses begging for help. I spoke to audiences primarily filled with clinical nurses at the bedside and focused most of my content via blog articles and videos on the individual nurse.

Throughout these years, I noticed a pattern among the numerous conversations I had with nurses. They asked their manager for help and their manager “did nothing”.

This led me down the rabbit hole into looking at the leader’s role in addressing workplace bullying and incivility. Since then, I’ve shifted my focus towards supporting the leaders who are ultimately responsible for cultivating and sustaining a healthy, professional, and respectful workforce culture by finally addressing bullying and incivility.

Since I started this journey, I’ve talked with thousands of healthcare leaders about their struggles to deal with the bad behavior of their employees.

It’s not the leader’s fault!

Throughout the years, I’ve recognized that organizations don’t do a good job equipping their leaders with the skills and tools they need to set behavioral expectations and hold their people accountable.

So, I had to do something to change that.

And now you’ll have the opportunity to learn what other leaders already know. Cultivating a healthy, supportive, and professional workforce culture is possible when leaders are equipped with the essential skills they need to eliminate disruptive behaviors.

Let’s be honest….

As a leader in healthcare, bullying, incivility, and interpersonal conflict consume more of your time than anything else. While you want to cultivate a professional workplace, you struggle to deal effectively with disruptive behaviors. Since you are unsure about how to deal with bad behavior, you do what’s comfortable – put it off until tomorrow.

It’s not that you’re not incapable or unconcerned; it’s that you’re not equipped with the essential skills to deal with disruptive behavior. Your education and organization have failed to prepare you.

Well, that changes today.

I’ve been helping leaders for the past 10 years eliminate bullying and incivility. Finally, I’ve taken what I’ve learned over those years and packaged into a resource just for you.

My new book, ENOUGH! Eradicating Bullying and Incivility in Healthcare – strategies for front line leaders is now available for pre-order.
