Every Nurse Should Connect With This Group

As a nurse for more than 25 years, I’ve learned the value of connections. After all, I named my company RTConnections (R for Renee, T for Thompson – Connections) because I was always referred to as the “Connector.” It brings me great joy to support other nurses as they advance in their knowledge and to connect them to other nurses and resources that help them succeed.

Connecting with others helps us grow professionally and personally, gain valuable skills, and build relationships with positive people.

Connecting = Success

People in business and other industries KNOW this and seek the wisdom and advice from other folks who’ve learned how to navigate the complexities of their industry. They find people who have already succeeded at something they want to do and ask them how they did it. Brilliant!

Many nurses don’t do this. They don’t connect.  They stay in their silos and then complain about not being as successful as they want to be.

Don’t be one of them!

One group I’ve connected with is the National Nurses in Business Association (NNBA). Lead by Michelle Podlesni, an RN originally from Pittsburgh PA (my hometown!!), the NNBA is dedicated to enhancing and promoting nursing success in business.

Whether you’re a nurse who wants to start a business (entrepreneur) or just wants to be more successful in your current role (intrapreneur), connect with the NNBA. Whether you like it or not, healthcare is a business. Nurses who develop business skills are more successful than those who don’t.

Now is the perfect time to dip your toe in the water and check out NNBA via their annual conference. On October 14-16, the NNBA will be hosting a fabulous conference at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino!

The topics are valuable to every nurse and the speakers are amazing! You will learn about career alternatives from Donna Cardillo, how to communicate more effectively (from me!!), how to make a million dollars as a nurse from Laura Gasparis, and more! Click here to see the conference agenda.

Join me and many other nurses at this year’s NNBA Conference. Isn’t it time you invest in yourself by connecting with others?

Stay Connected
Renee
